Important Notice – Safety Alert

Recent sand movements have made the river mouth potentially dangerous at certain states of tide.

Please be advised that until conditions improve on the bar it is considered dangerous to go out to sea on an ebb tide (when the tide is going out) when the daytime high tide is 4.4m or greater.  Therefore it is strongly advised not to attempt to go to sea at this time. This refers to both Seine Boats and Gigs.

If in doubt do not go out and stay in the estuary.
