With great regret we have to cancel todays competition.
A last minute safety meeting has concluded that deteriorating conditions mean it isn’t safe to hold the event.
We’re sorry as we know many folk were looking forward to it.
We will try and reschedule for a date in September.
After the rowing on Saturday, we have entertainment laid on at the Yacht Club. Food will be available between 6pm 8pm. We also have Mariners Away singing sea shanties ………….. should be a good fun night. Also a chance to get to know rowers from other Gig clubs who will be staying for Sunday’s World Seine Boat Championships. Come along for a great evening.
Hi all,
we are still hopeful that our regatta will take place tomorrow - there is a swell on the beach today, but we’re assured that it is dying away. There has been some very recent sand erosion and so it is likely that racing will be delayed by at least an hour - apologies for this.
We will be able to give final confirmation of go-ahead at 8am tomorrow; if you wish me to phone or e-mail someone other than your club contact, please could you forward the number/e-address to me by return.
Best wishes and fingers crossed,
Rachel
